PLANNING PERMISSION
If you are making changes to your property you will more than likely need to apply for some form of planning permission. The most popular type of change to a domestic property is to extend. On the vast majority of home extensions planning permission will be needed. Even if planning permission is not needed it may be beneficial to you to have a full set of existing and proposed plans and elevations drawn up to help with the design and build. It is important not to go ahead with any work without previously receiving planning permission as you can be served an ‘enforcement notice’ ordering you to undo all the changes you have made. Some projects will fall under the term of 'permitted development' where planning permission is not needed but this can be discussed with us and we can advise you as to the best route to take for your project.
